Michael Porter

Michael Porter taught in the Delaware Dual Language Immersion program at the elementary level, holding certification in both elementary education and world language teaching. During his tenure, he taught traditional learners in English as well as DLI students in Chinese in all elementary subjects. In 2022, he was chosen by the Delaware Department of Education to revise the curriculum pacing guide for Chinese for his grade level, and he held the position of building science chair the following school year. Michael is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, and holds a MA in East Asian Studies from The Ohio State University.

Yutao Song Porter

Yutao Porter is a music educator with over 15 years of experience teaching kindergarten through master’s students. As assistance professor and chair of the musicianship division at the Institute of Music Education of the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM), Mrs. Yutao Porter led the movement towards the recognition and appreciation of different cultures through music making experiences in the classroom. In 2015, the curriculum for Chinese and world music culture, which she developed for musicianship courses, was recognized by the Ministry of Education of China as a national course of excellence. In collaboration with a branch of the Julliard School, Yutao is the lead curriculum developer for a new K-12 music program designed to align with undergraduate professional music programs. She has also taught music at the Holy Child School of Rosemont. Yutao holds degrees from the Central Conservatory of Music and the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.
